The Trincity Sewage Treatment Project of Trinidad and Tobago

The Trincity sewage treatment project is located in Trinidad and Tobago, about 15.6 km from the capital, Port of Spain. The project commenced on 1 October 2019 and 2021 on 17 December 2019. The project is being built by the China Water Resources and Hydropower Twelve Engineering Bureau under a US $9,375,200 contract, the main works involved the design, renovation, construction, procurement, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of the existing Trincity Sewage Treatment and off-site pumping station facilities and the upgrading of approximately 1km of pipelines. The successful implementation of this project marks the first success of horizontal directional drilling and pulling pipe construction.

After operation, the wastewater treatment plant can treat the domestic sewage of more than 50,000 households. The daily treatment capacity reaches 4,304 m3/day in the dry season and 15,800 m3/day in the rainy season. The commissioning of the Trincity sewage plant will effectively improve the quality of river courses and groundwater and will have a very positive effect on the optimization of the TEDO ecological environment, significantly addressing the current lack of wastewater treatment capacity in the country, at the same time, the M2300 compost turner produced by TAGRM is used to produce a large amount of organic fertilizer through fermentation, which can improve the surrounding farmland, so it has high ecological and economic benefits.
